If you’re only booking cosmetic injections, you’re missing a huge component to optimal aging.

As a Naturopathic Doctor, my approach to optimizing aging goes well beyond cosmetic injections like botox and dermal fillers. There are so many other factors to consider when it comes to the aging process; adding volume or smoothing wrinkles with cosmetic injections is not enough to maintain youthful, healthy skin. For optimal aging, we need to take a more holistic approach that places equal weight on topical procedures and quality skin care, lifestyle habits and the vitamins and minerals we intentionally equip our body with. Regenerative aesthetics are the future of the beauty industry and I couldn’t be happier about it.

Mesotherapy: An Upgraded Microneedling Experience

Have you ever booked a microneedling treatment in Nanaimo? They’ve gained popularity recently, and for good reason. Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that uses a device with fine needles to create micro-injuries in the skin. These tiny punctures stimulate the body’s natural healing process, promoting collagen and elastin production.

Microneedling offers several benefits. It can improve skin texture by reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and scars. Plus, it can minimize the size of enlarged pores and improve the effectiveness of topical treatments applied afterward, since these products can then penetrate deeper into the skin.

Before booking your next microneedling treatment in Nanaimo, I encourage you to look into taking its benefits even further with mesotherapy. Mesotherapy takes the concept of microneedling and adds an infusion of skin-boosting ingredients to make it even better. This treatment uses a specialized nine-point injection device to carefully deliver Redensity®1, a unique blend of hyaluronic acid, amino acids, antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins into the middle layer of the skin (the mesoderm). This is where microneedling and mesotherapy differ—while microneedling typically does not inject any substances at all and relies solely on the skin’s healing ability to see results, mesotherapy combines the power of ultrafine needles with targeted delivery of naturally rejuvenating substances.

Microneedling with Mesotherapy in Nanaimo, BC

I currently offer mesotherapy sessions using the advanced V2 Beauty Booster in Nanaimo, BC. Before your Nanaimo mesotherapy treatment, my goal is to provide you with as much information as possible to ensure you feel you can make the best, informed decision for you. Every treatment with me begins with a thorough, built-in consultation, where I’ll assess your skin condition and discuss your goals, whether it’s hydration, reducing fine lines, or improving skin texture. Before beginning any treatment preparation, you’ll have time to ask any questions you may have, review the suggested treatment plan and pricing and if you would rather, take the time to think about it and come back for your actual treatment on another day. For consultations booked separately, a $100 fee applies. This amount can be put towards your treatment should you be comfortable moving ahead. Once you’re comfortable moving ahead with your mesotherapy with hyaluronic acid treatment, I’ll start by cleansing the treatment area, and depending on your comfort level, I might apply a topical anesthetic to minimize any potential discomfort from the injections. Then, using the advanced V2 Beauty Booster device, I’ll carefully inject the custom blend of nutrients directly into the mesoderm. This blend includes hyaluronic acid for hydration, vitamins for rejuvenation, amino acids to support collagen production, and other skin-boosting ingredients like antioxidants and minerals. During this process, I take great care to deliver precise doses at specific intervals so we can ensure even coverage and optimal absorption.

The injection process is relatively quick, and you might feel a slight prick or sting with each injection (well, 9), but the anesthetic helps mitigate any discomfort. After the procedure, it’s normal to see some dots, redness and swelling, similar to the reaction from a mild sunburn, but this typically subsides within a few hours.

I advise my patients to avoid strenuous exercise, sun exposure, and harsh skin treatments for at least 24 hours post-procedure to allow the skin to heal properly. You can expect to notice immediate hydration and a healthy glow, with full results becoming more evident over the next few weeks as collagen production increases. The beauty of mesotherapy is that it can be repeated in a series of treatments, allowing for cumulative effects and long-lasting benefits to your skin’s health and appearance.

Regenerative Aesthetics with Cosmetic Injections

Mesotherapy complements your cosmetic injection treatment plan, taking a holistic approach to your aging strategy. When paired with cosmetic injections like botox or dermal fillers, mesotherapy addresses a wider range of skin concerns, improving your skin at a cellular level. While cosmetic injections can smooth wrinkles and restore volume, mesotherapy focuses on revitalizing the skin’s texture and hydration. If your skin feels tired, dull, or dehydrated, mesotherapy can help restore its vitality, resulting in a smoother and more youthful texture that complements the results of your injections. It also boosts collagen production, which is so important for maintaining skin elasticity and firmness. By integrating mesotherapy with your cosmetic injections, you create a comprehensive anti-aging strategy that addresses so many aspects of aging skin, so you can achieve a refreshed appearance that also stands the test of time.

Longevity Supplements: From the Inside Out

While botox, dermal fillers, biostimulators, and mesotherapy are all effective ways to aid the skin’s appearance as you age, I’m a huge proponent of going even further than that for the sake of longevity. After all, it’s really not just about how you look on the outside–it’s about how confident you feel. That said, some of my favourite supplements for longevity actually do extend the results of your botox, filler, biostimulator, and mesotherapy results! There’s really no downside to supplementing properly when you’re invested in your health and longevity. If this describes you, these are the three supplements I recommend the most—and find the best results with myself!

Hair, Skin & Nails Ultra supports skin strength, elasticity, and hydration. Key ingredients like biotin, zinc, and silicon are so important for collagen and keratin, which are key for healthy skin, nails, and hair. Zinc also supports immune function and may extend botox effects by up to 30 percent! This formula includes Vitamin C and copper for connective tissue repair, along with Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) to reduce fine lines and maintain skin integrity. BioCell Collagen® adds hyaluronic acid and chondroitin sulfate for moisture and structural support. Click here and I’ll deliver your prescription directly to your door.

Whole Body Collagen is a go-to for anti-aging, because collagen makes up about 30 percent of the body’s protein. This blend of bioavailable collagen peptides boosts skin elasticity and promotes bone strength and joint health. It’s easy to incorporate into your daily routine through shakes or smoothies, supporting collagen production. Click here and I’ll deliver your prescription directly to your door.

CellGuard-NR boosts your body’s natural repair processes with Niagen®, resveratrol, and pterostilbene, which support NAD+ levels for energy and cellular repair. These ingredients help maintain an antioxidative shield and promote a healthy cell cycle. Found in berries and grapes, resveratrol and pterostilbene combat oxidative stress and inflammation, supporting cellular health and a youthful appearance. More Than Injections

Skin longevity goes beyond traditional cosmetic injections like botox and filler alone—it requires a holistic approach that combines surface treatments, internal support through longevity supplements, and the integration of biostimulators. Advanced surface skin treatments like mesotherapy and microneedling in Nanaimo are essential allies in enhancing skin texture, stimulating collagen production, and delivering powerful nutrients deep into the skin where they’re needed most. By pairing these transformative treatments with high-quality supplements, you’re not only improving skin health from the inside out but also creating the ideal foundation (and skin texture!) for cosmetic injections to truly shine. For a comprehensive approach tailored to your needs, consider booking a consultation at one of my three locations in Nanaimo, Parksville or Langley, BC.
