DON’T OVERTHINK IT | “How many times are you going to poke me?” Probably less than you think. Plus, ahead of your lip filler injections, I will apply a topical numbing cream that reduces the pinchiness. I also use Revanesse Kiss+, which already contains lidocaine for further comfort. So you’re getting numbing cream before we start, plus numbing built into the filler as we go. I won’t tell you it’s completely enjoyable, but lip filler isn’t as painful as people expect. It’s also rarely the number of pokes that people remember; it’s how much they love their results.

WHERE YOUR EYES GET FOOLED (in a good way) | Non-surgical rhinoplasty with dermal filler is one of the most underrated cosmetic injections, in my opinion. It`s all about perception and proportions. It can be confusing for your mind because often times the nose appears smaller after treatment, but what we`ve actually done is ADD volume. By strategically placing filler we can smooth a bump or subtly lift the bridge so the profile reads straighter. Once that line looks smoother, your eye stops catching on it and suddenly the nose feels smaller and more balanced. Nothing about the size has technically changed. I’m just playing with proportions, light, and how your facial features harmarize with one another. If you are curious whether this might be a good option for you, comment "Nose" and I`ll send you some more information and patient transformations. You`re also welcome to book your consultation at any one of my locations: @xposesalon @selflove.langley @parksville.wellness.collective @clinic5collective

PERIORAL LINES | You’ve probably heard them called “smoker’s lines,” but these lines around the mouth are a natural part of aging—and something we can treat. In fact, the areas around the eyes and mouth are often the first to show signs of aging due to the constant movement of the sphincter muscles. This is where Redensity II comes in. Designed specifically for delicate areas, this formula attracts less water than many other fillers, which helps avoid puffiness in regions like the mouth or tear troughs while still supporting hydration and mobility. Curious? I just published a full guide on my website. Comment “Lines” and I’ll send it to you.

LET’S TALK VANITY | There’s this unspoken expectation for women to look put together, rested, aging well. But the second you openly care about how you look...how dare you! Then layer in perimenopause and hormonal shifts…when hormones, stress, sleep, inflammation, and skin all start changing at once. Taking care of yourself and how you show up in this world is NOT shallow. I was recently listening to an episode of @themelrobbinspodcast with dermatologist @shereeneidriss, and she put it in a way I love: healthy vanity is caring enough to show up in the ironed shirt, not the wrinkled one.

This is exactly how I feel in my practice both as Naturopathic Doctor supporting women’s health and cosmetic injector. Us women, we are complex individuals and your care should reflect that too. Cosmetic injections mixed in with holistic support that goes much deeper and addresses the root cause of your skin concerns. Hormones, skin, stress, sleep, skincare, perimenopause — it’s all connected. If you’ve been wanting support beyond cosmetic injections, comment “Vanity” and I’ll send you the waitlist details. I cannot wait to dive deeper into this conversation with you.

GOOGLE HAS SPOKEN | Alright, this was cool. While Google may be a fan, most of my new patients actually are referred to me from you! It is that word-of-mouth recommendation that means everything to me because it means you trust me enough to recommend me to the people you love the most. I’ve been specializing in cosmetic injections since 2017 and have been lucky to build such great relationships with patients across the island and mainland. I am always accepting new patients across all four of my locations:

Most injectors don’t offer under-eye filler, and there’s a reason for that. The tear trough is a delicate area with multiple arteries and very thin skin, so the margin for error is small. Product choice matters a lot. I use Redensity II, which was designed specifically for the under-eye area and tends to attract less water than many other fillers. If a filler pulls too much water into this region, it can create puffiness, which is the opposite of what we’re trying to correct. Because of its unique formulation, Redensity II is also my preferred filler for treating perioral rhytids (smoker’s lines) around the mouth. Under-eye filler is NOT for everyone. If you’re curious whether it may be right for you, I’ve written a detailed blog explaining when under-eye filler makes sense and when it doesn’t.

LIP PROGRESSION | Why slow is better when it comes to lip filler. This first-time mom felt like her lips were disappearing and wanted a little hydration back in the tissue. Rather than rushing to a full syringe in one appointment, we built her lips gradually over two visits, a half syringe (0.6 ml) at a time. Splitting up the full syringe into two visits allowed us to first establish the vermilion border, setting the stage for more volume with a reduced the risk of filler migration. If you`re curious about my apporach to building lips, I have an entire blog on this on my website. You`re also welcome to book in for a consult to chat about it across any of my locations: @xposesalon @selflove.langley @parksville.wellness.collective @clinic5collective

THE MYTH YOU MIGHT STILL BELIEVE ABOUT BOTOX | Botox isn’t a facelift and it doesn’t lift the SMAS. But that doesn’t mean it has no role in the lower face or neck. Neuromodulators work on muscle, not deep facial structure. When used thoughtfully, they can soften downward pull, reduce neck banding, and help refine the jawline by relaxing overactive muscles. What they can’t do is lift descended tissue the way surgery can. In my latest blog, I break down what the SMAS actually is, why the idea that botox “lifts” it persists, and what results patients can realistically expect from lower-face and neck treatments.

I’m trying something new. I want to see if this is a realistic lifestyle suggestion for us busy moms !

No, I didn’t come up with this. I don’t know who did.

I’m finding (especially with the time change), waking earlier in the morning to get a workout in, isn’t happening. So I’m trying to get 100 push-ups done in a day -throughout the day !

Honestly… first attempted I only got 20 in 🤣
Second attempt I got 50… and now I’m too sore today (day 3) but let’s see if I can get another 50 in 🤔 (and not at once! I can only do 10 continuous push-ups)

You can also do this with squats/crunches/etc!

Let me know if this has worked for you with a 👋 or if you want an update on how this goes haha 🤣

Melatonin has helped me at times and especially with falling asleep.
But when my sleep stayed restless or unrefreshing, I had to look further.
That’s what this carousel is about. Melatonin is a signal, not the whole system. Hormones, iron status, stress, and circadian rhythm all influence whether that signal actually lands.
Sleep in perimenopause is rarely about one supplement — it’s about understanding the bigger picture.

Has melatonin helped you? Or left you confused?

This isn’t about crushing workouts.
It’s about doing what actually fits in this season of life.

Short. Focused. Repeatable.

Strength/resistance training in perimenopause isn’t optional, it’s protective.
For muscles, bones, metabolism, hormones, and long-term health and mobility.

If this looks doable… that’s the point ☝️

Let’s share ideas! What works for you??? Comment below 👇

I think most of us have dabbled with Melatonin 😉
But it’s actually the end of a much bigger pathway.

Meaning… there’s more to the story.
-Hormones
-Iron status (guilty!)
-Stress (cortisol)
-Circadian rhythm
-Genetics
All influence how well our body makes and responds to melatonin.

Shout-out to my friend Morgan @feed.your.genes for the work she’s done for me and in helping her patients personalize nutrition, lifestyle and exercise through a genetic lens !!

Does melatonin work for you?

Great if it does! But it’s very common that it won’t.
Sleep in perimenopause is about the whole system, not just what we take at night. I’m on a journey to really explain and understand all the pieces to the puzzle !

I’ve chosen to dive into the most common issues as we are approaching “midlife” (yes, I said midlife 😬) and entering our perimenopause journey!

I’m hoping to address some common issues and help you troubleshoot some reasons behind sleep struggles to give you back that rest you deserve 💤

Sleep disruption is one of the most common concerns I hear from women in perimenopause. Over the next week or so, I’m going to cover the most common sleep issues women experience and simplify why they happen.

This isn’t about “trying harder” or better sleep hygiene alone. It’s about understanding hormones, neurotransmitters, vitamins, minerals and how they all interconnect and change across a women’s cycle.

Save this and follow along if your sleep has felt off lately-or tag a friend who could benefit too!

Not gonna lie… I’ve been off my routine lately 🙋‍♀️
And then I remembered: perimenopause is not the time to ghost your dumbbells.

🦴 Quick bone facts we don’t talk about enough:

☑️ Women reach our peak bone density around the age of 20
☑️ Bone loss can begin in early perimenopause but accelerates during the later years
☑️ Women can lose up to 20% of bone density in the years around menopause (50-54)

🏋️ Strength training is one of the most effective ways to slow bone loss and reduce fracture risk

This isn’t about aesthetics.
It’s about staying strong, steady, and independent for decades.
Posting this because if I needed the reminder… maybe you did too ????
