GOOGLE HAS SPOKEN | Alright, this was cool. While Google may be a fan, most of my new patients actually are referred to me from you! It is that word-of-mouth recommendation that means everything to me because it means you trust me enough to recommend me to the people you love the most. I’ve been specializing in cosmetic injections since 2017 and have been lucky to build such great relationships with patients across the island and mainland. I am always accepting new patients across all four of my locations:
• Parksville — @parksville.wellness.collective
• Nanaimo — @xposesalon
• Langley — @selflove.langley
• Courtenay — @clinic5collective
Thank you for trusting me with your faces, leaving kind reviews, and recommending me to your friends (No gatekeeping here)!

HI, I MISS YOU | Has it been 3-4 months since you`ve seen me for botox? Has it been 6 months since your last filler treatment? It`s likely time to get booked back in; 1) Because I miss seeing your face and 2) Because consistency leads to your best, most natural results. Please note that everyone`s treatment cadence does differ, and these timelines are just a general rule of thumb. If you and I discussed something different, then of course stick to our original plan. Most injectors don’t offer under-eye filler, and there’s a reason for that. The tear trough is a delicate area with multiple arteries and very thin skin, so the margin for error is small. Product choice matters a lot. I use Redensity II, which was designed specifically for the under-eye area and tends to attract less water than many other fillers. If a filler pulls too much water into this region, it can create puffiness, which is the opposite of what we’re trying to correct. Because of its unique formulation, Redensity II is also my preferred filler for treating perioral rhytids (smoker’s lines) around the mouth. Under-eye filler is NOT for everyone. If you’re curious whether it may be right for you, I’ve written a detailed blog explaining when under-eye filler makes sense and when it doesn’t.

LIP PROGRESSION | Why slow is better when it comes to lip filler. This first-time mom felt like her lips were disappearing and wanted a little hydration back in the tissue. Rather than rushing to a full syringe in one appointment, we built her lips gradually over two visits, a half syringe (0.6 ml) at a time. Splitting up the full syringe into two visits allowed us to first establish the vermilion border, setting the stage for more volume with a reduced the risk of filler migration. If you`re curious about my apporach to building lips, I have an entire blog on this on my website. You`re also welcome to book in for a consult to chat about it across any of my locations: @xposesalon @selflove.langley @parksville.wellness.collective @clinic5collective

THE MYTH YOU MIGHT STILL BELIEVE ABOUT BOTOX | Botox isn’t a facelift and it doesn’t lift the SMAS. But that doesn’t mean it has no role in the lower face or neck. Neuromodulators work on muscle, not deep facial structure. When used thoughtfully, they can soften downward pull, reduce neck banding, and help refine the jawline by relaxing overactive muscles. What they can’t do is lift descended tissue the way surgery can. In my latest blog, I break down what the SMAS actually is, why the idea that botox “lifts” it persists, and what results patients can realistically expect from lower-face and neck treatments.

RIGHT TOOL, RIGHT PLACE | Nope, you can`t split your full syringe across your lips and jawline. The formulas I choose for each treatment area are highly specific. Different areas of the face require different levels of structure, flexibility, and support. Revanesse® Sculpt™ is a dermal filler designed for areas that need stronger structural support. It’s typically placed in deeper planes of the face to restore volume and create definition, most commonly in the cheeks, chin, and jawline. This is very different from the softer fillers used in more delicate areas like the lips or fine lines, where flexibility and movement are more important. If you ever are curious what formula I am using for your treatment and why, please don`t be shy to ask. I love, love, love talking about the intricacies of injections.

360 APPROACH | Life is 360°, so your results should be too. During your consultation, you’ll see me moving around your face to assess it from every angle. I’m looking at the profile, the three-quarter view, how the face sits in motion, and how everything balances together — just as the rest of the world will see your results, from every angle and through every expression. Now, I don’t always remember to take before and after photos from every angle… but that’s a whole other conversation.

ASK ME ANYTHING | When it comes to your face, your body, your health, there could never be a dumb question. Ask me, then ask again if you’re still unsure. I recently updated my website and added FAQ sections throughout to help answer some of the most common questions. I also have A LOT of resources on my blog specifically written with you in mind. That said, please never feel embarrassed to ask questions during your consult or treatment. That is literally what I’m here for. And if you haven’t noticed already, I genuinely love talking about this stuff.

BOTOX: THE REAL TIMELINE | One way I often explain neuromodulator longevity to patients is by thinking about two different bell curves. The first bell curve is biologic duration. Some people fall on the shorter end of the spectrum and may notice their treatment wearing off closer to two months. Most people fall into the average range of about three to four months. And then there are patients who metabolize it more slowly and may see results lasting five months or longer. But there is a second bell curve that matters just as much, and that is patient preference.

Some patients prefer absolutely no movement and will return earlier in the tapering phase of the treatment. Others are perfectly comfortable allowing some movement to return before they come back. Where you fall on that curve often determines how frequently you choose to treat. It’s also important to understand that movement returning does not always mean wrinkles returning. When skin is healthy and well supported, many patients tolerate some muscle movement without being bothered by it. Cosmetic injections do have limitations, and there are always nuances involved. Dose matters. The specific neuromodulator used can influence how gradually the treatment tapers. And individual biology plays a role in how your body responds over time.

This is why the relationship between patient and injector is so important. A thoughtful treatment plan develops over time as your provider learns how your face responds, how you prefer to look, and where you feel most comfortable in that tapering phase. When patients move from injector to injector, it becomes much harder to refine that plan. It takes time to truly understand someone’s facial anatomy, muscle patterns, and treatment preferences.

I’m trying something new. I want to see if this is a realistic lifestyle suggestion for us busy moms !

No, I didn’t come up with this. I don’t know who did.

I’m finding (especially with the time change), waking earlier in the morning to get a workout in, isn’t happening. So I’m trying to get 100 push-ups done in a day -throughout the day !

Honestly… first attempted I only got 20 in 🤣
Second attempt I got 50… and now I’m too sore today (day 3) but let’s see if I can get another 50 in 🤔 (and not at once! I can only do 10 continuous push-ups)

You can also do this with squats/crunches/etc!

Let me know if this has worked for you with a 👋 or if you want an update on how this goes haha 🤣

Melatonin has helped me at times and especially with falling asleep.
But when my sleep stayed restless or unrefreshing, I had to look further.
That’s what this carousel is about. Melatonin is a signal, not the whole system. Hormones, iron status, stress, and circadian rhythm all influence whether that signal actually lands.
Sleep in perimenopause is rarely about one supplement — it’s about understanding the bigger picture.

Has melatonin helped you? Or left you confused?

This isn’t about crushing workouts.
It’s about doing what actually fits in this season of life.

Short. Focused. Repeatable.

Strength/resistance training in perimenopause isn’t optional, it’s protective.
For muscles, bones, metabolism, hormones, and long-term health and mobility.

If this looks doable… that’s the point ☝️

Let’s share ideas! What works for you??? Comment below 👇

I think most of us have dabbled with Melatonin 😉
But it’s actually the end of a much bigger pathway.

Meaning… there’s more to the story.
-Hormones
-Iron status (guilty!)
-Stress (cortisol)
-Circadian rhythm
-Genetics
All influence how well our body makes and responds to melatonin.

Shout-out to my friend Morgan @feed.your.genes for the work she’s done for me and in helping her patients personalize nutrition, lifestyle and exercise through a genetic lens !!

If you want to learn more I suggest following her page as well!

Great if it does! But it’s very common that it won’t.
Sleep in perimenopause is about the whole system, not just what we take at night. I’m on a journey to really explain and understand all the pieces to the puzzle !

I’ve chosen to dive into the most common issues as we are approaching “midlife” (yes, I said midlife 😬) and entering our perimenopause journey!

I’m hoping to address some common issues and help you troubleshoot some reasons behind sleep struggles to give you back that rest you deserve 💤

Sleep disruption is one of the most common concerns I hear from women in perimenopause. Over the next week or so, I’m going to cover the most common sleep issues women experience and simplify why they happen.

This isn’t about “trying harder” or better sleep hygiene alone. It’s about understanding hormones, neurotransmitters, vitamins, minerals and how they all interconnect and change across a women’s cycle.

Save this and follow along if your sleep has felt off lately-or tag a friend who could benefit too!

Not gonna lie… I’ve been off my routine lately 🙋‍♀️
And then I remembered: perimenopause is not the time to ghost your dumbbells.

🦴 Quick bone facts we don’t talk about enough:

☑️ Women reach our peak bone density around the age of 20
☑️ Bone loss can begin in early perimenopause but accelerates during the later years
☑️ Women can lose up to 20% of bone density in the years around menopause (50-54)

🏋️ Strength training is one of the most effective ways to slow bone loss and reduce fracture risk

This isn’t about aesthetics.
It’s about staying strong, steady, and independent for decades.
Posting this because if I needed the reminder… maybe you did too ????

☑️ Women reach our peak bone density around the age of 20
☑️ Bone loss can begin in early perimenopause but accelerates during the later years
☑️ Women can lose up to 20% of bone density in the years around menopause (50-54)

🏋️ Strength training is one of the most effective ways to slow bone loss and reduce fracture risk

This isn’t about aesthetics.
It’s about staying strong, steady, and independent for decades.
Posting this because if I needed the reminder… maybe you did too ????
